Thank you to everyone who helped us to mark our first birthday in business with a fundraising event, MacCelebration!
Attended by 60 guests, we’re delighted to announce that collectively we raised £350 for charity at the event which was held at PPG Canalside on Wednesday 20 April.
Founder of MacComms, Ellie MacDonald, is a Trustee of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and so she decided to combine the event with a fundraiser for the charity. The event saw business leaders network and enjoy an evening with entertainment, food, drink a balloon pop raffle and a moving video to showcase the charity which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
The event was supported by a number of local businesses including Huddersfield Town who donated two directors box tickets to watch the match in style, Oliver James Sugarcraft who created a MacComms branded cake and cupcakes to raffle off; and entertainment was provided by Huddersfield University student band Quattro Saxophone Quartet and hypnotist and mind reader, Will James.
Ellie commented:
“I am very proud of how far MacComms has come in just one year.
“With a number of frightening statistics that more than half of all start-ups fail within their first few years, I wanted to make a mark to prove that with hard work and determination, this doesn’t have to be the case. And, with the support from the local business community the event was a great success for both MacComms and the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.”
MacComms continues to grow and with the successful appointment of a number of new client wins, is recruiting for additional members to join the team.
