New Huddersfield-based communications company launched
A leading businesswoman has set up a new communications, marketing and PR consultancy.
Based in the Colne Valley, Ellie MacDonald has left her eight year career since graduating from The University of Huddersfield to set up her own firm.
Following her marriage to Mirfield-born Husband Jon, Ellie has formed the Limited company, naming it after her new surname to create MacComms.
MacComms specialises in delivering PR and communications for a wide range of businesses following her experience as PR account manager at a Brighouse-based PR agency.
Ellie is also equipped to offer businesses marketing and event management expertise, having worked as Marketing Manager for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce for two years, supporting and connecting local businesses.
In-keeping with supporting local organisations, MacComms’ first client was leading designer childrenswear retailer, Wakefield-based IndiaCoco.
IndiaCoco founder Claire Harper appointed MacComms to manage a VIP launch event held on Thursday 14 May, which saw a number of VIPs descend on the new store, based at Trinity Walk, Wakefield.
Claire Harper commented:
“MacComms was introduced to me through a trusted contact and I quickly came to see how Ellie’s experience could support the next chapter for the IndiaCoco brand through a successful VIP store launch event to coincide with our third birthday celebrations, which she recommended. As a growing retailer of award winning Best of British childrenswear brands I am very keen to support local businesses and having received warm and professional support, I’m very confident MacComms has the makings to grow as an honest and trusted Yorkshire company.”
Ellie said:
“I have worked with some great people who have taught me a lot over the years and many who have given me the confidence, drive and ambition to set up my own firm.
“I am keen to support local businesses to help them raise their profile, get noticed and increase sales, and I’m grateful to Claire of IndiaCoco, a leading, growing business in our region for supporting me in getting set up. It has been a pleasure to work together and alongside key Wakefield marketing agency Statement also.”
Ellie moved to Huddersfield to study at the top University in 2003. She then began her marketing career at award winning community interest company, Yorkshire Energy Services, managing the marketing and PR for the Energy Saving Trust advice centre for South and West Yorkshire. Ellie then moved within the company to project-manage a high profile conference, exhibition and awards ceremony before handling the marketing and PR for successful local authority backed insulation schemes, Kirklees Warm Zone, Wrap p Leeds and Insulate Hampshire.
