Earlier this spring, the MacComms team attended Yorkshire’s biggest business conference, Buy Yorkshire hosted by The Yorkshire Mafia.
The event was held over two days and invited thousands of entrepreneurs, stakeholders and executives together to network, exhibit and attend conference seminars to learn, build contacts and trade.
The ambience of the event, held in the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, was thriving. Immediately after entering the main exhibition, our Managing Director sparked a conversation with a fellow business leader on collaborative opportunities.
We also bumped into and strengthened relationships with existing suppliers, supporters and offered our support to clients exhibiting.
Attending Buy Yorkshire 2016 highlighted the importance that networking holds for business opportunities and the significance it holds on marketing a business, product, service and/or cause. We even got snapped in support of remaining ‘in’ by anti-Brexit campaigners.
It seemed that each stall conversation and seminar at the conference proposed new business partnerships, opportunities and solutions.
Aside from building relationships and over-filling our bags with sweets, the team also attended a seminar hosted by entrepreneur and business coach Johnathan Straight. Previously Jonathan Gay, and successful in business, he presented on the importance of PR as a way to get noticed in business.
Overall, Buy Yorkshire was an extremely insightful day of witnessing how business people network and gain contacts which ultimately result in increased trade and the benefit that networking places upon businesses.
Well done Yorkshire Mafia, here’s to the next business conference and exhibition!
