We have recently supported youngsters through a Kirklees Council initiative to open a new shop in Huddersfield town centre.
Named All Good in The Hudd, the team aged from 16-29, will open the shop, specialising in selling clothing, accessories, homeware and art, branded with the strapline.
Having collaborated with KC Communications founder, Ellie helped to deliver a session with the group to develop their marketing skills and identify PR opportunities.
The group of budding young entrepreneurs will open their own shop in Kingsgate shopping centre over the May bank holiday weekend.
And, following an enthusiastic brainstorming session, Ellie was impressed with the team’s ambition to give the town a much-needed boost.
Ellie comments:
“I was impressed to meet with the group of passionate and motivated people, on a mission to transform Huddersfield and it was a real pleasure mentoring them. There were some fantastic ideas around the table and I’m looking forward to seeing their ideas come to fruition at the launch event!”.
Lucy Bye, Kirklees Council Enterprise Project Manager, said:
“Your Alternative Market is a programme to get young people working together and learning work related skills to set up a shop in Huddersfield Town Centre – ultimately to make them more employable.
Businesses and individuals have been incredibly supportive of the programme and feel that work needs to be done to ensure that young people are getting the help they need to give them practical work skills to help them get a job”.
Show the team some support by visiting the shop this weekend, and follow on Twitter @GoodintheHudd.
