We recently welcomed business owners and entrepreneurs to an intensive workshop on how to use PR to grow their businesses in 2018.
The event, which took place on 17th November 2017 was led by MacComms’ founder and managing director, Ellie MacDonald, alongside account manager, Jennifer Ogden.
During the session, Ellie and Jen assisted the small group of attendees to construct their own PR plan for next year and guided the business professionals through the process of engaging with the media and how to spot potential PR opportunities.
The seminar provided the intimate group of delegates with bespoke support, as well a delicious breakfast and a spot of friendly networking!
We received some amazing feedback from attendees, who left the workshop armed with guidance documents and a wealth of ideas to put what they had learnt into practice and make 2018 their best year yet.
Co-founder of Connectably, Gareth Everson commented:
“We left MacComms’ workshop feeling excited about our plans for 2018. We’ve already implemented some of the activities and opportunities we identified in the workshop and have even secured our first piece of coverage, announcing our recent award shortlistings! We will definitely consider attending any of MacComms’ seminars in the future as we found the team to be incredibly helpful and knowledgeable on the industry.”
Just days since attending MacComms’ workshop, Connectably took the duo’s advice on board to get the news out about two award shortlistings. Their press release was picked up in Yorkshire business news and you can read the full story on Yorkshire Business Daily here.
Founder of Abundance Foods, Marcia Clarke, commended the workshop and said:
“It gave me a great insight into how PR works, what journalists do and require from people, and how to get on their radar. It’s a great way to access PR for small start-ups with a tight budget. A really good investment.”
Lynn Barrett, marketing administrator at Garforth-based accountancy practice, Business Works UK added:
“A very relaxed and informative workshop with lot of food for thought after attending the event – I would certainly consider attending in the future!”
